Snow Fall Brings Power Outages, 1-3-22
1/3/2022
As the snow fell overnight, FLEC unfortunately began experiencing some power outages. This snowfall has been very heavy and slushy and has caused many tree limbs to fall on the power lines. Please remember that all power lines on the ground could still be energized and are still considered very dangerous! Please stay away from downed lines and call us to report them as soon as possible (877-353-2674).
FLEC currently has approximately 2,400 members without power. Employees will continue to work through the day and night to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. Extras contract crews have been brought in to assist our efforts. As with any power outage, power must be restored to the main primary lines first before moving outward to the secondary service lines. If you have experienced any damage to your service entrance to your home, we still disconnect your service for you until you are able to have repairs made by an electrician.
For accuracy and safety reasons, all calls must be reported by phone through our outage management system. Dispatchers do not monitor social media for outage reports. Once you have reported your outage successfully it is not necessary to report the outage again. You can view the outage map by visiting FLEC's outage viewer at www.flec.org.
Please stay safe and warm. We ask for your patience and understanding as we make restorations. An outage update will be made later this afternoon.
