FLEC Conducting Pole Inspections
4/22/2022
Fort Loudoun Electric Cooperative (FLEC) is utilizing a contractor, Alcan, to perform pole inspections and some treatment on poles in existing power line easements and rights of way. Contract crews will be working in easements around the Madisonville area (on lines feeding around parts of Madisonville and east along Old Tellico Highway into the Rocky Springs Community) and the Tellico Plains area (on lines feeding parts of Tellico and southeast into the Coker Creek Community). Also, we will have contract crews working to inspect poles in Greenback (from town southeast into the areas of Thompson Bridge, Howard School, Tomotley, and Big Gully). Poles in parts of Friendsville (east along Hwy 321 into the Union Grove and William Blount communities) and Louisville (lines feeding toward Miser Station, Mentor Road, Lowes Ferry, Doug Gap, Light Pink, and Gravely Hills) will also be inspected.
The contract employees will be working at poles located anywhere FLEC has a pole. Please let us know of any hazards that they may want to be aware of around the poles. The Cooperative is required to maintain its poles and other infrastructure on an ongoing basis to meet national guidelines. Through the checks being done, FLEC will have to change out some poles and will have others treated, if necessary, in hopes of getting many more years of service and stretching out the Cooperative’s Membership dollars.
The contractors will be utilizing vehicles marked with “Contractor for FLEC” while conducting the work. At no time should any of these contract employees ask to come into your home. As always, please notify FLEC of any concerns you may have in regard to persons acting on your Cooperative’s behalf. The Cooperative holds the trust you have of our efforts to a high standard and do not wish to ever violate the high ethical standards we have maintained for over 80 years.
Any questions or concerns can be addressed by calling FLEC’s offices at 1-877-353-2674, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.; FLEC is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
