To Qualify:

• Customer must complete an application used for a credit check by TVA. We usually have a reply within 2 days.
• After passing the credit check, the customer must have 12 months of credit with FLEC and be in good standing (defined as paid 10 of 12 bills with no penalty).
• Customer must be the land owner and must provide a copy of the Warranty Deed and driver’s license once they are approved. If the customer doesn’t own the property, the land owner must co-sign all documents as well as the application.

Choosing a Contractor:

• After the application has been approved and FLEC has the deed and license, the customer is free to contact TVA’s approved contractors and begin gathering estimates. We recommend getting at least 3 estimates for comparison basis.
• The customer then chooses the TVA contractor they wish to do the installation. FLEC does not have to see the estimates.
• After the install is completed, the contractor will contact FLEC’s Mike Davenport to set up an inspection. At this inspection, the customer will sign all financing forms and pay the $50 application fee.

Loan Terms:

• Repayable through the electric bill for up to 10 years
• 8% loan for 13 SEER HVAC units
• 6% loan for 14 SEER or greater HVAC units
• No penalties for early payoff
• May make lump sum payments to principle
• Loan must be paid off before the home is sold or refinanced
• Loan is good for up to $10,000
• Insulation and/or storm windows may be added to the financing of the HVAC unit
