Updates on Lighting Options

Days will be getting warmer soon and more folks will be found out after dark. Fort Loudoun Electric Cooperative (FLEC) is focused on being ready to provide the safety and security of multiple types of efficient outdoor lighting options! The Cooperative offers several types of lighting (ranging from 50 watts to 400 watts) to meet your needs. FLEC is especially happy to offer even more LED options now.

“Folks can call us about the options,” encouraged Jarrod Brackett, FLEC’s General Manager/CEO. Brackett explained that “when some lights go out, we will be replacing older lights with the newer LED options, in some cases…the older lighting is becoming nearly obsolete. Most LED lights are more efficient, less cost, and last longer! FLEC offers lighting as a service to the communities it serves and generally does not make any profit.” This fact has led FLEC to implement a slight increase in lighting costs due to the increasing costs of lighting equipment and the maintenance associated this spring. This increase will take effect on April 1st. Members utilizing FLEC lighting services can expect to see the cost of their outdoor lighting increase between 1.6 and 6.5 cents a day in cost (from $0.50 to $2 per month) on their monthly billing.

For more information about lighting options, feel free to contact our offices. FLEC’s offices can be reached at 1-877-353-2674, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Fort Loudoun Electric Cooperative (FLEC) is an equal opportunity provider and employer. Look us up,
