Storm restoration update:

Since we started the restoration of power on Monday with 23,403 members out of power, a lot of support has been received.

We want to thank our membership for their support and patience.    We still have a small number of members without power and we will continue to work on these until each one has been restored.  At this time, those who are still without power are generally in an area that is more difficult to reach.

Thanks go to the community groups in Monroe, Blount & Loudon Counties who have provided shelters for the membership.  The Red Cross and EMA also assisted those who were without power with medical concerns, thank you.  Thank you to local highway departments and the state highway department who aided in the tree removal efforts.

To local businesses in our service territory who have assisted FLEC in providing excellent care for the visiting volunteer crews, thank you.

To our local media, you have done a great job in helping us keep our membership informed on our progress.  Thank you.

We have been fortunate to have assistance from neighboring utilities to help us in this restoration effort. We have had 120 men on the ground to assist our full-time employees.  Thank you to each FLEC employee and to all the volunteer crews from the following companies or utilities: North Georgia Electric Cooperative, Sumter Utilities, Davis H. Elliot, Tri-State Electric Cooperative, Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative, Real Tree Service, Central Alabama Electric Cooperative, Holston Electric Cooperative, Volunteer Electric Cooperative, Sevierville Electric, Service Electric, Stricklan Tree Service and Coada Excavating Service.
