100K Tree Day

Public Service Announcement

January 3, 2016

Fort Loudoun Electric Cooperative (FLEC) partners with The Tennessee Environmental Council (Council), Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Division of Forestry (TDA) and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) to distribute and plant 100,000 native Tennessee trees across our state on Saturday, February 25, 2017. The event is being hailed as the single largest community tree planting event in the state’s history.

If you would like to receive a free tree and participate in this historic event, please register at between now and February 19, 2017 (while supplies last). By registering for a free tree, you are committing to plant it on February 25, 2017 as part of 100K Tree Day. Because of anticipated high demand for these trees, you are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Donations and sponsorships are encouraged on the event website to help cover the costs of making trees available to participants.

If you complete the online registration to receive a free tree, you will be able to pick up your tree at Fort Loudoun Electric Cooperative’s office in Vonore on February 24, 2017. For more information about 100K Tree Day, please visit. .
